Mortgage calculator
Repayments, total interest, and the number most calculators bury — what paying a bit extra each month actually buys you in years and dollars.

Balance over time
How much you still owe at the end of each year. The gap between the curve and a straight line is what interest costs you.
What this does not include
- Fees — application, ongoing, discharge — and lenders mortgage insurance.
- Stamp duty, conveyancing, building inspections and moving costs.
- Rate changes. Almost every Australian mortgage is variable; assume this number moves.
- Offset accounts and redraw, which change the maths considerably.
